Remember us, Holy God, but remember not our sins. Remember your promises to weak and weary servants, and do not cast us away because of our sins. We confess our sins to you today, and plead for forgiveness. Though our afflictions often perplex us, we confess that we deserve greater afflictions than we experience. We thank you for your promises of true comfort! Your promises give us life and comfort. Jesus the Savior was afflicted for our transgressions, and we rest in the perfection of his saving work. Enable us to suffer for his sake. He is our strength and our song, as well as our salvation. We pray in his name, amen. (Based on Psalm 119:49-56)
